The 4-0 win score did nothing to reflect how close the matches were at the cold courts of Loughborough.

Susana had a gruelling five setter game, starting a bit slow then finding pace with her long game.

Sam took a while to adjust to the cold court but then found a good game strategy after Susana’s effective advice. She swears that the game took five years off her lifespan though the team thinks it’s a five year gain.

Katie took a while to warm up into her match, losing the first game 11-8. Her crafty opponent had some tricks up her sleeve and dominated the T well. For the rest of the match, Katie used her usual power shots to dominate from the middle and, surprisingly, ran down a few drop shots. She won the next three games to take the match.

Playing at number 4, Sarah was off to a good start in the match and despite a couple of loose serves, went on to take the first game comfortably. For the rest of her match, her opponent struggled to return tight serves allowing Sarah to win the following games to take the match 3-0.

This result secures our place as the highest 1st team in our league, so we will face off against Exeter 1sts on the 22nd of February for our playoff match to move up to the Premier league.
